Mulan: a Theory

Mulan: a Theory Empty Mulan: a Theory

Post by Radicaledward Mon May 27, 2013 12:49 am

So I was surfing around the net Tumblr to be exact and I found something there that got me thinking.

Ok so we all know about the Great Stone Dragon from Mulan right? Well we only see the Dragon 3 times in the movie. The first time is when Mulan is singing "Refelction" talking about how she wished her outside matched her inside, the 2nd time is when she's watching her father get ready for bed the night before he's suppose to go off to war and the 3rd is when well the statue crumbles.

Ok so my theory or the theory i read is that the reason they couldn't wake the Stone Dragon is that he's already been woken and isn't in the statue anymore.

So he woke up when Mulan was singing about wanted to be strong enough to be herself. The sprit leaves the statue when she's sitting at the base watching her Dad. The spirit enters her or gives her the strength to do what's right or what she needs to do. Thus the statue crumbles when they try to wake him up.

Personally I like this theory. It really adds something to the movie or I think so. What do you guys think??
